Ulster artist, Karl Harron born in Belfast 1953 is reviving the ancient art of glass painting and fusing in County Down, from a thriving business producing one-off designs and unique limited series in, kiln-formed and blown glass for the growing local and international markets. Working from his Studio in Loughries, on the scenic Ards Peninsula, Karl also facilitates private introductory and Masterclass workshops which attract clients from diverse backgrounds ranging from professional architects and glassmakers to interior/product designers and students.
Karl, who trained in Oxford under the expert eye of Master Glass Painter Paul San Casciani, Dutch glass fusing artist Frank Van Den Ham and with Gil Reynolds in the United States, is currently involved in group and solo exhibitions throughout Ireland.
Participation in the Bullseye Glass Company Masterclass hosted by North Lands Creative Glass, Lybster, Scotland has further extended Karl's understanding and appreciation of advanced kiln-forming techniques.
