Slieve Patrick
A statue of St. Patrick stands on Slieve Patrick above the villages
of Saul and Raholp. Similarly this
statue was erected to commemorate the 1,500th anniversary if St. Patrick's
landing in Ireland and the work which he carried out. The statue looks
down across Saul, the surrounding towns and also the peninsula
of Lecale where Patrick's work began. The view from the statue
is impressive.
On the first Sunday in June a pilgrimage to Slieve Patrick is made,
passing the stations of the cross up to the altar where a ceremony
is held
