Rowanberry and Apple Jam

  • 3lb rowanberries
  • 3lb apples
  • 5.5lb sugar

Peel, core and slice the apples and boil in a little water until soft. Then sieve. Cover berries with water and boil for ten minutes, then strain. Combine the juice, the apple pulp and warmed sugar. Boil until the jam sets when tested. Skim with a metal spoon. Allow jam to cool, then stir and put in heated jars.
